TuneLock is built to collect as little as possible. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Here is exactly what that means.
TuneLock uses the microphone only while a Practice or Compose session is actively running, to confirm an instrument is being played or a sound is being captured. That audio is analysed live, on your device, using Apple's on-device SoundAnalysis framework. It is never recorded, stored, or uploaded — not even temporarily.
Everything TuneLock remembers — your streak, your practice history, your Compose ideas, your settings — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. None of it leaves your device. If you capture an audio idea in Compose, that short clip is saved as a file in your device's local storage only, and is never uploaded anywhere.
TuneLock uses Apple's Family Controls and ManagedSettings frameworks to apply the app lock you set up. Which apps you choose to lock, and your lock/unlock state, are stored locally on your device through Apple's own frameworks. The developer cannot see your selection, your usage, or any Screen Time data — Apple does not expose that to app developers.
TuneLock authorises Screen Time access for your own device, for yourself. It is not a parental control or child-monitoring app, and is not designed or intended to be used to monitor or restrict another person's device.
The one-time unlock is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. The developer never receives or has access to your payment details — that relationship is between you and Apple.
TuneLock is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, since it does not collect information at all.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does collect data — this page will be updated and the date above will change.
