SonaLock does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Everything the app does happens on your device. There is no account, no server, and no tracking.
SonaLock is built to work entirely on your iPhone or iPad. We have no backend and no way to see what you do in the app. We do not know who you are, we do not receive any of your data, and nothing you do is uploaded anywhere.
During an active speaking session, SonaLock uses the microphone to detect that speech is occurring, using Apple's on-device sound analysis. This confirms that you spoke. It does not check what you said, and it does not judge your pronunciation.
No audio is ever recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. The microphone is active only while a session is running and stops the moment the session ends.
SonaLock uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to shield the apps you choose until you complete your daily session. Your selection of apps is handled by iOS and stays on your device. We never see which apps you pick, and SonaLock cannot read the contents of those apps.
The following is saved locally on your device only, so the app can work between launches. None of it leaves your device:

The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes the payment. SonaLock never sees your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction.
If you turn on daily reminders, SonaLock schedules local notifications on your device. These are created and delivered on-device and are not sent through any server.
SonaLock contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across apps or websites.
SonaLock does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
